Bold Experiments #3

Josefina Anglada

Berlin, February 2019

The third edition of Bold Experiments Workshop was held at Graumalerei.

It was the first time I was doing everything by myself, with no collaborator, and I have to say that self-promotion is more difficult than I thought. Still, it was really important to go through all the process: Searching for a place with available dates, promoting through Facebook, selling the tickets through my website and setting up the workshop.

I went to Graumalerei on Saturday to make the set-up and leave everything ready for the next day. On Sunday, I arrive some minutes before to prepare the last details. The day was gray outside: just perfect for a creative afternoon.

We worked hard and the results were amazing! Everyone could materialize their ideas into unique pieces of jewelry.

Here are some of the pictures i took during the 4 hours session:

I want to thank all the participants for the hard work!

Bold Experiments #2

La Plata, November 2017

The second edition of Bold Experiments Workshop was held at Maria Picci Tienda Taller in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It was great to be at home and be able to make a workshop people were willing to take. At the same time, I went through the experience of working together with a local organiser that helped me with everything I couldn't have achieved alone because of the distance. Maria promoted the workshop, took care of the registrations and prepared the workshop room according to my needs. We were in touch through skype and whatsapp to organise and share info, pictures and questions.

I had traveled all the way to Argentina with all the materials and many tools in my luggage and again I had planned every detail: how to welcome the attendants, the booklets and workshop kits, a small present form Necklace Therapy and a nice mood board to set up.

When I got there, Maria welcomed me with a big smile and helped me setting up the space. Soon the participants arrived, each with her own strong personality.

We worked hard and happy. The space was perfect and the attendants could try out many processes and techniques apart from playing with materials, colors and composition. The results were amazing! And everyone could change their ideas into bold pieces of jewelry.

I could perfectly see the connection between each attendant’s temper and each necklace colors, compositions, techniques and shapes. I hope that this workshop will encourage them to continue with their practice.

Here are some of the pictures that my friend, Carolina Bonfanti Mele,  took with so much passion.

I want to thank Maria Picci for organizing with so much care to detail.

Bold Experiments #1

Berlin, October 2017

The first edition of Bold Experiments Workshop was heald in the frame of the Design Jungle Pop-up Shop organized by the Berlin Kreative Kollektiv, a non-profit organisation formed by a group of passionate Berlin-based makers.

The workshop exceeded all my expectations: The results were good, the attendants were happy and I felt I had succeeded in explaining how I approach the design process.

It was amazing to see how despites having access to the same variety of materials and tools, each person arrived to different results. Sometimes they had ideas that they didn't know how to materialize and I was happy to assist them in the process. Many times I had an answer and many other times I could only say “I don't know. Lets try things out together.” In any case, that is what experiments are about: trying things, making mistakes, and trying again. The materials are the only limitation. All the rest is possible.

I hope you enjoy going through this amazing pictures that my friend Mihaly Podobni took with so much passion.

I want to thank the Berlin Kreativ Kollektiv for encouraging me to do this workshop. I wouldn’t have done it without the support of many of the members!
